‘Disparage India’s traditions and heritage’: CM Yogi tears into Rahul Gandhi’s Manusmriti remarks

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to come to the state and address the issue of fee reimbursement dues withheld by the Congress government. Rao, launching a 48-hour hunger strike at the BJP State office in Hyderabad, accused the Congress administration of neglecting the education sector and jeopardizing the future of 40 lakh students in Telangana.

He criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's "stubborn attitude and authoritarian approach" in pushing the education system into a crisis. The BJP leader also alleged that the government has failed to release the promised ₹2,000 crore advance for the next academic year, despite assurances given after criticism from the High Court.

Rao claimed that BJP workers have collected signatures from nearly five lakh students unhappy with the Congress government's failure to clear fee reimbursement arrears. He further charged the police of lathi-charging polytechnic students who had raised their grievances and criticized the government for ignoring the agitation by Ayush and Homeopathy students seeking an increase in their stipends.

BJP leaders including MP Rekha Sharma and MLA Palvai Harish extended support to the protest and criticized the Congress government over the issue.
