Deion Sanders says subpoena in son Shilo’s bankruptcy case not a distraction ahead of season opener

Deion Sanders maintains his usual media presence, both on and off the field, including being involved in a bankruptcy trial concerning his son, Shilo. Boulder County Sheriff's deputies arrived at Sanders' campus to serve him with legal documents as part of this trial. Sanders' attorney subsequently filed a motion to dismiss the case, which involved Sanders' use of certain logos on merchandise sold on his website.

The trial is timed to coincide with Colorado's upcoming season opener against Georgia Tech on September 3. Sanders dismissed the subpoena issue as irrelevant, stating that any individual or celebrity faces legal issues, and he does not know anyone who has not encountered some form of lawsuit. Shilo Sanders' bankruptcy case is related to a security guard incident during his high school years; the guard sued Sanders for permanent injuries, but Shilo was later awarded money in the case.

Sanders is confident his son will relay this victory in his own words. Apart from this, Deion Sanders is currently embroiled in a separate, unrelated lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Nebraska, where the designer of the contested logos claims he is owed millions in damages for unauthorized use of his work.
