Deaths of woman and man treated as murder-suicide

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating the deaths of Brazilian woman Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa as a suspected murder-suicide. The 33-year-old law graduate was discovered dead in an apartment on Lower Cecil Street on Friday morning, after friends grew concerned she had not arrived as expected. Post-mortem examination revealed evidence of foul play in her death.

Initial inquiries pointed to a male suspect, who was known to Ms Pereira Rosa. The man voluntarily left Limerick on public transport on Friday, eventually traveling to Cork where his body was discovered on Saturday. Gardaí are treating the incident as a murder-suicide, with a Family Liaison Officer assigned to support Ms Pereira Rosa's family during this difficult time.

The fundraising efforts for the family of the deceased have exceeded €25,000, covering repatriation and funeral costs in her hometown of Sorocaba, Brazil. Ms Pereira Rosa worked for a cleaning company in Limerick, and her employer is bearing the expense of repatriation. Tributes have been paid to the popular member of the Brazilian community in Limerick, who was described as kind and bubbly by those who knew her.
