David Bisbal’s incredible Almería homecoming turns Cooltural Fest into ‘one enormous chorus’

David Bisbal brought his hometown audience at Cooltural Fest in Almería to a deafening chorus on Sunday, August 23, as he closed the four-day festival with a spectacular show at the Recinto Ferial. The event, which ran from August 20 to 23, featured hits like "Ave María", "Bulería" and "Lloraré las penas" alongside tributes to legendary artists Camilo Sesto and Julio Iglesias.

Bisbal, who returned to the phrase "mi Almería" throughout the performance, transformed the fairground into a massive chorus as thousands joined in singing along with him. The final night capped off a busy few days for the singer in his home province, where he also addressed the Virgen del Mar procession and performed at the festival earlier in the week.

Festival attendees praised the energetic performances and inclusive atmosphere, with Paula Jiménez, a 31-year-old festival-goer, noting that the concert surpassed expectations with everyone dancing and singing every single song. The festival has grown year on year, with this year's attendance noticeably higher than the previous edition, and the event's layout has been reorganized for better accessibility and flow.

Cooltural Fest's commitment to inclusivity extends beyond its performances, as it has been running a long-running employment and accessibility program with the Fundación Music For All, placing over 50 people with disabilities in festival roles each year. This year's measures included sign language interpreters, subtitled performances, and sensory-friendly spaces, among other accessibility services.
