Coach carrying German school pupils crashes on A28

A coach transporting German schoolchildren collided with a van on the A28 motorway near Wezep in Gelderland early Monday morning, causing the vehicle to overturn and crash. At least eight individuals, most of them teenage pupils, were hospitalized, with some suffering serious injuries. The van's driver was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash prompted the closure of the A28 in both directions between 't Harde and Wezep, hindering traffic heading towards Zwolle and Amersfoort. Alternative routes were set up, with drivers facing delays expected to persist beyond the morning rush hour. Three trauma helicopters were dispatched to the scene, but the cause of the accident remains unknown, and police forensic investigators are currently examining the site.
