Clubs complete late business ahead of new GPL season

The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season is set to commence on September 4, and clubs have been busy finalizing their squads with late signings and free-agent deals. Established Premier League teams such as Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, Medeama, Aduana FC, FC Samartex, and Berekum Chelsea have all made moves in the transfer market.

Medeama SC, known for their busyness, have added depth in midfield, defense, and attack by bringing in players like Etse Dogli, Emmanuel Boateng, Dominic Frimpong, Usman Safianu, Abdul Rahman Yaya, Emmanuel Annor, Issah Ibrahim, Monged Abuzaid Salman, Blessing Kwabena Dwamena, Jelillu Osman, Emmanuel Anokye, and Ebenezer Adade. Port City FC have also added experience and attacking options through players like Kwabena Adu Meider, Francis Gyetuah, Stephen Diyou, Gideon Waja, Ishak Suraj, Samuel Gyimah, Daniel Amissah, and Elliot Affotey.

Hearts of Oak have invested heavily in young talents, signing players like Abdul Aziz, Ebenezer Amoh, Rockson Kyeremeh, Manuel Osei Djan, Caleb Koranteng, Alex Banso, Prince Amevor, Vicente Anane, Mamadou Kader Kourouma, and Dominic Nsobila. Swedru All Blacks and Samartex have also made significant additions to their squads, with the latter signing four new players.

Aduana FC have bolstered their defense and attack by signing players like Shawkan Hunalf Mohammed, Samuel Tenedu, Boa-At Regain, Stephen Amankona, Abdul Latif Mohammed, Emmanuel Abban, Zakaria Fuseini, and Bismark Anim. AshantiGold have brought in international players such as Raphael Kodjo Etchonou and Ben Yamine Nassirou Kabore, both from abroad. Finally, Heart of Lions have added several free-agent signings to their new-look squad.
