Chikkamagaluru police arrest man for attempting to disturb communal harmony

The Chikkamagaluru police apprehended an individual on Monday for allegedly attempting to disrupt communal harmony by disseminating a video depicting Tippu Sultan alongside a song that mentioned Pakistan on social media platforms. The police initiated the case suo motu after observing the video on various online channels and identified the accused, Roshan, aged 23, who was subsequently detained, along with a few others for further questioning.

In anticipation of the upcoming Id Milad procession, a 40-foot Tippu Sultan cutout has been erected in Tippu Nagar, the city, to foster a sense of unity and peace. Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Dayama disclosed that the authorities had traced and apprehended those responsible for creating and sharing the video. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against anyone who tries to inject a political or communal tone into a religious event.

The Superintendent of Police also announced that peace meetings had been conducted to ensure a harmonious procession and prevent any untoward incidents.
