Carson Hocevar Addresses Connor Zilisch New Hampshire Incident: ‘Spun Myself’

Carson Hocevar, the driver of the No. 77 car, addressed the incident that occurred during Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, involving a spin-out after contact with Connor Zilisch's No. 88 vehicle. Hocevar acknowledged that he was responsible for the spin-out, stating that he believed he had cleared Zilisch but instead triggered the contact by driving into his car.

He jokingly added that he has a tendency to "finish the job" in such situations. Despite the early spin, Hocevar managed to get back on the lead lap at one point, ultimately finishing 19th in the race. This challenging day for Spire Motorsports continued Hocevar's recent slump in NASCAR, with mechanical issues and poor performance affecting his season progress.

Despite finishing third in Stage 1 of the race, Hocevar's struggles have taken him to 11th in the points standings, impacting his chances for a high seeding in the upcoming 10-race Chase.
