Canceled Iron Man Game Footage From Just Cause and Mad Max Developer Leaks Online

A leaked video has surfaced online, purportedly featuring gameplay from Avalanche Studios' canceled Iron Man game. Avalanche Studios, the creative minds behind Just Cause and Mad Max, were in the midst of developing the Iron Man title during the early 2010s. Co-founder Christofer Sundberg confirmed the existence of the project and its subsequent cancellation in a 2022 interview.

However, the footage that has emerged is notably unfinished. It showcases Iron Man soaring through a vast environment, engaging in aerial combat with jets and engaging in close-quarters hand-to-hand combat with soldiers. Notably, the game would have featured destructible environments, allowing players to toss enemies through walls, slice foes apart to create shortcuts, and tear down buildings in their path.

While the game's current state does not distinguish itself significantly from SEGA's MCU Iron Man games, it certainly holds potential. The studio's previous successes, such as the engaging Mad Max game and the sandbox-style gameplay of Just Cause, make it plausible that Avalanche could have produced a standout Iron Man game. There is still a glimmer of hope, as EA Motive is currently developing a new Iron Man game.

However, details regarding the project remain scant, and no updates have been provided since its inception in 2022. It is worth noting that EA was also developing a Black Panther game, which was unfortunately canceled last year. Nonetheless, despite the cancellation of Black Panther, Iron Man remains in development at EA. Given the passage of four years since the initial announcement, fans are eagerly anticipating any news on the title.
