Autobauer: Porsche verkauft IT-Beratung MHP an Tata Consultancy Services

Düsseldorf - Porsche, the automobile manufacturer, is restructuring its business and has sold its Management and IT consulting arm, MHP, to the Indian technology giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The companies announced this development on Monday. TCS will assume full ownership of MHP, although the transaction is still subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals and is expected to be completed in the coming months.

The exact purchase price has not been disclosed by the companies. MHP was recently valued at around one billion euros in the market circles. Porsche acquired the consulting firm in its entirety in 2024, thus concluding an unusually lengthy search for a new owner. The news first broke in June 2025 by the business daily Handelsblatt, which reported Porsche's plans to spin off MHP.

At that time, the process was still in its early stages, and a partial sale was also considered an option. Over a year later, the complete sale of MHP has now taken place. Surprises few industry experts that the negotiations dragged on. IT service providers closely linked to a corporation are considered complicated sale objects.

On the one hand, MHP's connection to Porsche and the Volkswagen Group brings a large, relatively dependable stream of business. On the other hand, a conglomerate purchase presents a bundled risk. Consequently, long-term take-over or utilization guarantees are often negotiated in such transactions.
