Anshuman Jhingran Becomes Youngest Male To Complete Oceans Seven, Earns Second Guinness World Records Title

Navi Mumbai’s open-water swimmer Anshuman Jhingran has been officially recognized as the youngest male to complete the Oceans Seven, earning his second Guinness World Records title. The 21-year-old achieved this feat by swimming the final Tsugaru Strait crossing in Japan on June 30, 2026, just three years after starting his journey with the North Channel in July 2023.

The Oceans Seven, often likened to mountaineering's Seven Summits challenge, comprises seven demanding swims across some of the world's most challenging waters. Jhingran's record-breaking journey saw him swim each of the seven crossings between July 2023 and June 2026. Beginning with the North Channel on July 17, 2023, he completed the challenging swims in successive years, including the Catalina Channel, Cook Strait, Molokai/Ka iwi Channel, Strait of Gibraltar, English Channel, and ultimately, the Tsugaru Strait.

Jhingran underwent rigorous training at Fr. Agnel Sports Centre in Vashi, under the guidance of coach Gokul Kamath. His preparation involved extensive conditioning and open-water training to handle strong currents, tides, cold water, changing weather, and extended physical and mental effort. Jhingran expressed his gratitude to his coach, family, and support team for their unwavering support throughout this journey, which has been as demanding as the seven crossings themselves.

His latest achievement marks him as one of India's leading young marathon open-water swimmers, bringing international attention to the country's growing presence in the sport.
