Alberta announces music commissioner to grow industry culturally, economically

Edmonton, Alberta has appointed its first commissioner of music, Jennifer Venance. Venance has over two decades of experience as a musician and music educator, as well as experience developing the school curriculum. She will serve as a liaison between the province and the music industry, with duties including supporting and creating new opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs in the business.

This appointment is part of the broader music action plan launched by Alberta in April to promote music economically and culturally.
