Yeboah scores 2 goals, Minnesota beats Earthquakes 5-1, snaps 9-game winless streak

Kelvin Yeboah scored two goals, leading Minnesota United to a 5-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night. This win ends a nine-game winless streak for Minnesota. The Minnesota United team, previously winless, secured their first victory since a 3-2 win against Columbus on May 2. The Earthquakes, currently 10-8-3, have lost four consecutive games and are winless in six straight matches.

Drake Callender made five saves for Minnesota. Joaquín Pereyra, Marcus Caldeira, and Mauricio González each scored a goal for the Earthquakes. Yeboah scored the second goal in the 40th minute, ending his goalless run since May 16, and added a second in the 44th minute. Pereyra scored in the 10th minute, making it 1-1. Caldeira scored his first career goal in the 65th minute, and González added the final goal in the 86th minute. Timo Werner opened the scoring for Minnesota with a penalty in the fourth minute.
