'We have faced this many times': Pas ready for action over Hadi's article

KOTA BARU: The Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (Pas) is prepared to face any consequences from authorities after a police probe into an article penned by their president, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang. Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, the party's secretary-general, stated that it is common for party leaders, including the president, to be summoned by the police following complaints lodged over their statements or writings.

Historically, whenever there have been police reports concerning the statements of Pas members, they have been summoned to provide their accounts. This is a routine occurrence that Pas has encountered numerous times before. The relevant individuals, including Hadi, will appear and present their statements to the authorities if necessary.

Hassan affirmed that Pas is ready to cooperate with the authorities in this matter. Yesterday, Hadi's political secretary, Mohd Syahir Sulaiman, confirmed that the police had documented Hadi's response to one of his articles. Syahir, who is also an assistant secretary-general of Pas, revealed that the police initiated an investigation into Hadi following complaints filed by members of the Democratic Action Party (DAP).
