Toronto Tempo’s injury woes continue as Sykes, Morrow ruled out for season

Vancouver - The Toronto Tempo will be without guard Brittney Sykes and forward Aneesah Morrow for the remainder of the season. Head coach Sandy Brondello announced Friday that both players were ruled out after sustaining injuries during their 82-79 win over Portland. Sykes appeared for only 31 seconds in the first quarter before leaving the game due to a foot problem, while Morrow suffered a left knee injury midway through the second quarter and had to be carried off the court in tears.

Guard Marina Mabrey, who did not play against Portland, will not be on the roster when the Tempo face the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces at Rogers Arena on Sunday. Brondello stated that the 29-year-old All-Star will undergo evaluation in a few weeks and her future participation in the season remains uncertain. Toronto, who began their inaugural campaign with an 11-25 record, has faced numerous injury issues and will also be without forwards Maria Conde and Nyara Sabally for the Sunday match against Las Vegas.
