Sudbury Women's Centre recognized for service with $7,500 donation

The Sudbury Women’s Centre has been honored by the Sudbury Credit Union for its decades of service to the community. This year, as the credit union marks its 75th anniversary, it has donated $7,500 to the Sudbury Women’s Centre. Chantal Makela, CEO of the Sudbury Women’s Centre, expressed gratitude for the generous donation, stating that it will directly strengthen their programs and services.

The centre provides support for women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals facing challenges such as intimate partner violence, housing insecurity, and human trafficking. Mimi Regimbal, CEO of Sudbury Credit Union, praised the Sudbury Women’s Centre for its long-standing presence in the community and its commitment to helping countless members.

The credit union plans to make 10 similar $7,500 donations to local organizations throughout the year, each recipient being announced monthly.
