U.S. Ambassador to Syria Tom Bark joined in a recent interview with Australian-Australian influencer Mario Nauwal to discuss the possibility that Israel's recent strikes in Syria may have been a "ploy to gain votes in an upcoming election." Israel claimed the actions were a pre-election campaign tactic, stating that the strikes were meant to rally nationalist sentiment ahead of Turkey's October general elections.

Bark emphasized that such provocative actions could have serious implications and warned that Turkey's military may perceive such incursions as a reason to deploy their own fighters close to their border, potentially escalating tensions. Israel's Defense Minister, however, defended the strikes, claiming the military action was based on clear intelligence indicating that Turkey was preparing to launch a hostile operation against Israel from Syria's Albu Doum airbase, from which they had recently moved troops.

Bark criticized the U.S. ambassador's response, accusing him of presenting inaccurate information and contradicting President Trump's stated position on the issue. Israel's military also carried out a drone strike on a vehicle in southern Syria the same day, claiming it was aimed at a group preparing for a terrorist attack. The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes as a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and a continuation of Israel's repeated attacks on its territory.
