Trump has vowed to seek re-election despite the Democratic Party's efforts, arguing that they would lose control of the southern border, senior citizen Social Security benefits, and tax cuts for the wealthy. The Democratic leadership is cautious about initiating impeachment proceedings, preferring to focus on issues directly affecting voters such as rising inflation and healthcare costs.

The House Judiciary Committee, the Intelligence Committee, the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and the Foreign Affairs Committee are all expected to play a role in the investigations. However, the party's congressional leadership emphasizes that impeachment remains a "tool" and not the primary objective of the inquiry.
