A woman from Taiwan is suspected of spraying liquid on a national treasure at Yakushi-ji Temple. The woman, whose name has not been released, is believed to have used a spray bottle to spray a liquid on the Temple's national treasure at around 2:30 pm on July 26. The Temple's priest, who witnessed the incident, immediately reported it to the police. The liquid sprayed on the national treasure was found to be water. When questioned by the police, the woman said, "I did it because I was moved by it." The national treasure in question is a wooden statue of the Buddha, which is one of the oldest in Japan. The Temple has not announced any further details about the damage caused by the incident. The police are investigating the incident.
