Security official martyred, 6 others injured in roadside explosion in Balochistan's Mastung

Quetta, Saturday: A security official lost his life and six others were wounded in a roadside bomb blast, police revealed. An explosive device planted along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway near Gro in Mastung district's Khad Kocha area went off as security vehicles were passing by. One of the vehicles was struck, leading to the martyrdom of a security official and six others sustaining injuries, according to a senior police officer.

The blast triggered a fierce exchange of gunfire, with the assailants fleeing once reinforcements arrived on the scene. Medical teams swiftly transported the victim and the injured to the Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital. The national highway was closed to traffic following the explosion, and a search operation was launched to apprehend the perpetrators.

Tragically, just a day prior, four laborers working in an apple orchard were killed and three others injured in a similar explosion in the same region. Hospital staff examining the victims and the injured noted distinctive impact marks on their bodies.
