Redblacks fire football operations VP Shawn Burke amid 0-10 start to season

The Ottawa Redblacks terminated their vice president of football operations, Shawn Burke, on Sunday, amid a disappointing 0-10 start to the CFL season. Burke, who had been with the club since 2021 as general manager, was elevated to vice president just prior to the current season when the team brought in Ryan Dinwiddie as head coach and general manager.

Despite being part of the organization for three years, the Redblacks have only managed to make the playoffs once during Burke's tenure. The club's front office appears to be in a state of flux, as team president Adrian Sciarra recently resigned. The decision to part ways with Burke was described as difficult by the Redblacks' CEO, Mark Goudie, who cited a lack of on-field results meeting expectations.
