Rajasthan: Alwar School Principal Suspended After Video With Girl Students At Dam Goes Viral

Jaipur, August 23 - The principal of a government senior secondary school in Alwar, Rajasthan has been suspended following the viral spread of a video depicting him bathing in a dam alongside female students. Lal Chand Meena, the principal of Government Senior Secondary School in Raubavi Padak Chhapli, Thanagazi area, was immediately placed under suspension by the Directorate of Secondary Education in Bikaner.

The suspension order, issued on Saturday, alleged that Meena's actions violated the code of conduct for public servants. A departmental inquiry has been launched under Rule 13(1) of the Rajasthan Civil Services Rules, 1958.

The departmental action followed the viral circulation of a purported video showing Meena bathing in the dam with Class 11 and 12 students. The school principal had allegedly taken over 200 students to a dam approximately two kilometers from the institution on August 15. The dam contained roughly 11 feet of water, and its use for bathing was prohibited due to the drowning risk. Some students had recorded videos during the visit, which subsequently went viral on social media platforms.
