Professor used endoscope camera, needle to leak agriculture exam paper in Chhattisgarh
On August 20, the B.Sc. (Agriculture) second-year, second-semester Entomology examination paper from Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU) was leaked. The mastermind behind the leak, 38-year-old professor Yogesh Sonkesariya from Bharti Agriculture College in Durg, was among six people arrested. Sonkesariya, who has been employed at Bharti Agriculture College since 2019, is accused of using a thin endoscope camera to copy approximately 15 questions from the leaked paper.
The professor, who was entrusted with carrying examination papers from the main agricultural college to his institution, was found to have taken the Entomology paper home instead of submitting it as per university protocol. After the leak, the university revised its protocol for the first-year examination the following Saturday, requiring the question paper to be sent by email with an OTP.
More than 100 police personnel were deployed across multiple districts to trace the accused and investigate the leak, which came to light on the morning of the examination.
