Pregnant Defence Ministry Officer Found Dead, Family Alleges Abuse By In-Laws

On August 21, 30-year-old Nazia Khanam, a pregnant officer at the Defence Ministry, was discovered deceased in her Dwarka, Delhi home. Her family claims she endured physical and mental abuse from her husband, Azam Ali Khan, and in-laws, Sameen Nisha and Babar Ali Khan. The family discovered her lifeless body around 4 am, initially reporting it as a suicide.

However, relatives dispute this account, suggesting she may have been murdered. Nazia's father, Tawab Khan, holds her husband accountable for her death and demands legal action. According to police, an argument ensued between the couple, leading her to lock herself in a room; when he entered, he found her hanging from a window. The post-mortem examination is pending, and the family seeks a recorded account of the procedure along with preservation of all evidence.

Police have filed a case, with further actions contingent on the post-mortem findings, witness statements, and evidence gathered from the scene.
