Newborn baby found dumped in drain at Obuasi Old Estate

A seven-month-old infant has been discovered dead in a drain within the Obuasi Old Estate area of the Ashanti Region, prompting shock among local residents. The body was reportedly found in the gutter between midnight and 1:00 a.m., though news of the grim discovery circulated within the community approximately six hours later, around 6:30 a.m. The specifics regarding the infant's cause of death and how the body came to be in the drain remain unknown at this stage.

Assembly Member for the Estate Electoral Area, Kofi Mensah, also known as Gabasey, stepped in following the discovery to assist in retrieving the baby's body. Assembly Member Mensah informed Adom News' Isaac Normanyo that arrangements for the infant's burial have been arranged while the ongoing inquiries are conducted.
