Marbella’s Plaza de Toros neighbourhood party is back with free carnival, music and water fun

Marbella’s Plaza de Toros neighbourhood will host three days of festivities from August 28 to 30, 2023. The Velada celebration, organized by the Asociación de Vecinos Plaza de Toros with support from the Marbella council, promises music, carnival, dancing, and a kids’ water bash in the old bullring and children's park. Gerardo López, the association president, believes the bullring is the perfect setting for cultural and neighbourly gatherings without compromising the barrio's character.

The event kicks off on Friday with a communal paella and the crowning of the centre's king and queen, followed by a carnival show featuring local performers and artists from Cadiz province. On Saturday, the crowning of the velada’s queens and kings takes center stage, with performances by Hermanas Cervera, Barrichi Colorao, and Marbella’s own Davinia.

Sunday’s highlight is a water festival in the local park, aimed at keeping the event enjoyable for all age groups. The council has praised the collaboration between local authorities and the neighbours' group, urging residents from across Marbella to join in and celebrate the barrio's unique spirit.
