Man arrested after shooting in N.W.T. town leaves three injured

FORT SMITH - The RCMP in Fort Smith, N.W.T., reported that a man has been apprehended following a shooting incident which left three individuals injured. According to police, the incident occurred outside a business in the town's west end at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday. Officers were dispatched to the scene in response to a call reporting a shooting.

An armed man reportedly fled the area following the attack. A shelter-in-place order was subsequently issued for residents, which was subsequently lifted around 15 hours after the shooting. The incident is described as targeted, with the risk to the public deemed over. Three people received medical attention following the shooting. Fort Smith is situated in the southeastern corner of the N.W.T. and borders Alberta.
