Israeli forces kill three Palestinians in Gaza, shoot child dead in Nablus

Two Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Sunday resulted in at least two fatalities, including a four-year-old boy, according to Palestinian health officials. The first strike targeted a building in Zawayda town, prompting the Israeli army to instruct the property owners to evacuate the area. Medics reported that the explosion released flying debris and shrapnel over a wide radius, causing injuries to six people, the youngest of whom was the aforementioned young boy, Mohammad Abdel-Salam Taha, who tragically succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

A displaced Palestinian resident, Abu Ahmed, expressed his dismay at the destruction, stating that the airstrike left the building in ruins, reduced to a heap of twisted steel and concrete. He implored for solutions and peace.

The second airstrike occurred in the neighboring Nuseirat refugee camp, as confirmed by the health officials. Israel's military has stated that it is investigating both incidents.

The ceasefire agreement, backed by the United States, which went into effect in October, aimed to cease major hostilities in Gaza and ended a significant Israeli military operation against Hamas and other militant groups. However, the ongoing airstrikes by Israel's military suggest that the conflict persists, despite the ceasefire. Since the ceasefire began, more than 1,280 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, while Israel has reported four of its soldiers as casualties.
