IIT Visit Opens New Horizons For JNV Students, Pandhana

Pandhana, a town in Madhya Pradesh, witnessed a group of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 11 students from Pandhana visiting the renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The aim of this educational excursion was to expand the students' knowledge about higher education, technology, and career prospects. Among the participants were ten girl students who had moved from Karnataka to Pandhana.

Assistant Registrar Rajiv Pandey, a former Navodaya student himself, led the students through a comprehensive tour of the IIT campus. He provided valuable insights into admission opportunities, various courses, exam preparation strategies, and potential career paths. The students had an opportunity to explore several laboratories, including physics, chemistry, biology, and biotechnology. They observed fascinating experiments, such as diffraction by grating, which offered a glimpse into practical scientific learning.

The IIT makerspace offered a unique experience for the students. There, they witnessed the models and projects created by IIT students, showcasing the realm of practical learning, innovation, and technical skills. The Makerspace provided an inspiring environment for the young minds to envision their future possibilities.

In addition to the scientific exploration, the students visited the institute’s library. They learned about the vast resources available and the book-issuing system, which further broadened their academic horizons. A short film about the day-to-day life at the IIT was screened in the renovated auditorium, giving the students a sense of the vibrant atmosphere that exists within the institute.

After a day of scientific and technical exploration, the students took a well-deserved break and toured the sports complex. The campus boasted basketball courts, table tennis and badminton facilities, a running track, and a stadium, providing ample opportunities for sports and physical fitness.

The entire educational visit was organized under the guidance of Principal Sittin Nagaria, with support from teachers Narendra Kumar Srivastava and Anshu Singh. The event, organized by the Pandhana JNV, aimed to expose the students to various academic, scientific, technological, innovative, and sports facilities, fostering a well-rounded perspective for their future endeavors.
