How his blind father taught a comedian to find laughter in the face of death

Farid Azmeir was born into a family dealing with a tragic loss. His father, Md Azmeir Yusoff, suffered from a degenerative eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa. While Farid was still a baby, his father's vision deteriorated, leaving him permanently blind by the time Farid was born. Farid's father, however, never learned to adapt to his blindness.

Instead, he relied on shadows, memory, and his strong will to navigate through life. He maintained a positive outlook and took pride in his appearance, always ensuring his shirt was tucked in and his shoes were polished.
