FULL LIST: Umahi’s son, 12 others win Ebonyi LG chairmanship seats

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured all 13 chairmanship and 171 councillorship seats in the recent Ebonyi State local government elections, according to official results announced by the Chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, Patrick Enyi. The son of Works Minister David Umahi, Osborn Umahi, emerged as the elected chairman for Ohaozara Local Government Area.

Other winners include Peace Agwu from Ishielu, Paul Ituma from Ohaukwu, Friday Nwuhuo from Ezza North, Chinedu Mkpuma from Ezza South, Chidi Nwode from Ikwo, Timothy Nwachi from Afikpo, Ikechukwu Ogbofia from Onicha, Michael Kalu Anyim from Ivo, Simeon Onuoha from Edda, Helen Aduga from Izzi, Chidiebere Alo from Abakaliki, and Chibueze Odigwe from Ebonyi Local Government Area.

Election Commissioner Enyi praised the election as peaceful, free, and fair, highlighting the participation of other political parties in the process. Umahi, the elected chairman-elect, commended the Electoral Commission for the transparent and peaceful conduct of the election, pledging to prioritize rural development, youth empowerment, and agricultural transformation during his tenure.

The APC's state chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, described the party's victory as an indication of its dominance in the state and expressed confidence in the party's continued success in the 2027 general elections.
