Family, friends gather in prayer after injury to area high school football player

Family and friends came together to pray for the recovery of Celina High School senior football player Parker Wynk. The injury occurred during the team's season opener against St. Henry on Friday, when Wynk suffered a spinal cord injury while recovering a fumble. A prayer service was held at Celina First Church of God on Saturday night for the injured player.

Wynk's coach, Brennan Bader, praised the senior's character and integrity, noting that he is a "dream" for any coach. Wynk's mother reported that he is alert, talking, and his mobility continues to improve. The team is hopeful that Wynk will find a way to help them moving forward. Pastor Craig Flack, who is close to Wynk, expressed his wish that others facing challenges might find comfort in knowing that Jesus Christ, a healer, is present, even in difficult times.

Wynk's teammates assured News Center 7 that they would continue to play for him, united in faith throughout his recovery.
