ECB investigating Carse 'nightclub incident'

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is currently investigating bowler Brydon Carse following an incident at a nightclub in Derby on Saturday, according to the ECB's statement. Videos circulating on social media reportedly show Carse in handcuffs being led away from the club by police. Carse, a Durham bowler and part of England's squad for the upcoming second Test against Pakistan, was seen with team-mate Matthew Potts.

Former England captain Ben Stokes was also photographed at the scene. However, Carse was not on England duty at the time of the alleged incident and is set to rejoin the squad on Monday. The ECB states they are aware of the reported incident and are actively investigating, promising a further update once more information becomes available.

This comes five days after England captain Joe Root encouraged his players to be exemplary role models and human beings, following a series of off-field issues. Root emphasized the importance of representing the country in the best possible light.
