Durán and Díaz homers, Quantrill’s 6 scoreless innings help Rangers beat Angels 5-3

Arlington, Texas (AP) — During Sunday's game, Ezequiel Durán and Elias Díaz each hit solo home runs, while Cal Quantrill pitched six innings of scoreless baseball, contributing to the Texas Rangers' 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Durán's first-base blast early in the game gave Texas a 1-0 lead. Cody Freeman followed with an RBI triple, his first of the season. Díaz extended the Rangers' lead to 5-0 in the fifth inning, his sixth home run of the season thus far.

Quantrill, who had a 6-4 record, kept the Angels at bay, allowing just six hits, preventing any walks, and striking out six batters. His performance led to a five-game streak of scoreless innings, and he extended his streak of innings without allowing a run to 15.

Jacob Latz contributed with a one-hit ninth inning, earning his 26th save of the season. Zach Neto's eighth-inning home run gave the Angels an 8-5 lead. However, Jacob Lowe's sacrifice fly and Gustavo Campero's RBI single were the Angels' only other runs.

Despite the Angels' rally, Yusei Kikuchi (0-4) allowed all five runs on seven hits over five innings. Cleveland's starting pitcher for Monday's home series against the Guardians remains undetermined.
