Dubai adopts AI-powered productivity system across 32 government entities

Dubai: The International Centre for Combating Media Disinformation (ICCMD) is creating an advanced AI system to track, analyze, and verify digital media content as part of their efforts to combat misinformation. At the ICMD board's inaugural meeting, which was conducted virtually and chaired by Issa Al Shayji, the organization unveiled its initiative alongside the International Charter for Media Integrity and Combating Disinformation.

The new system will monitor digital content, examine keywords, topics, and media narratives, as well as track content spread and emerging trends, combining artificial intelligence with professional expertise to improve the speed and efficiency of monitoring potentially misleading information. Al Shayji emphasized the need for cross-border cooperation among media, professional, and academic institutions, along with investments in modern technologies capable of identifying and analyzing patterns of misleading content.

Sultan Al Hosni, the ICCMD Secretary-General, revealed that the center is developing an integrated digital platform to support monitoring, analysis, and verification of media and online content. Fadheela Al Muaini, ICCMD's Vice-Chair for GCC Affairs, stressed that combating misinformation is no longer solely the responsibility of media organizations.

She stated that professional and trusted media serve as the first line of defense against misinformation, and GCC countries can leverage their media expertise and institutions to contribute to a more credible digital and media landscape.
