Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, also known as Ogogo, has passed away, confirming reports from multiple sources. The founder of Best of Nollywood, Seun Oloketuyi, announced the actor's death on social media, stating, "Taiwo Hassan Ogogo is dead. He finally lost the battle of life." Ogogo's daughter, Kaira Taiwo, expressed her grief on Instagram, revealing her disbelief at the loss of her father.

Other notable figures, such as Saheed Balogun, also mourned the veteran actor in their respective social media posts. The recent death of Ogogo comes days after his daughters publicly appealed for medical assistance, informing the public that their father had been battling stage-four cancer. On August 17, 2026, Kaira and Lima Taiwo sought medical advice and assistance for their father, as doctors had informed them that chemotherapy could no longer be administered due to his condition.

They explored alternative treatment options, including specialized medical procedures and traditional remedies. Ogogo was a well-known figure in the Nigerian film industry, especially in Yoruba-language films.
