Box Office: ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Triumphs Again in Fourth Weekend With $39 Million, ‘Insidious 6’ Launches to $25 Million

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" maintained its position at the top of the box office for the fourth consecutive weekend, despite facing competition from various new releases. This includes a comedy, a horror franchise, a Jason Statham action movie, and a family-friendly film.

In its fourth weekend in theaters, "The Odyssey" also achieved a significant milestone by becoming Christopher Nolan's highest-grossing movie, both domestically and internationally. The film added $19.5 million in its sixth weekend in North American theaters, contributing to its total earnings of nearly $539.1 million domestically.

As the year progresses, "The Odyssey" is trailing behind "Spider-Man," which has already made over $854.9 million in North America. If "Spider-Man" continues its strong performance, it could soon surpass "Avengers: Endgame" to become the second-highest grossing domestic release of all time. The record holder currently stands at "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with $936.7 million in North America.

Additionally, Sony's "Insidious: Out of the Further" secured the second-biggest movie of the weekend, earning $25.3 million from 3,303 theaters. Its $18 million production budget makes it the most expensive film in the series.

The sixth movie in the "Insidious" franchise also made $35 million internationally. Internationally, "The Odyssey" achieved $68 million, largely driven by China and Korea, bringing its worldwide total to $1.4 billion.
