Bhikangaon-Jhirniya Road Work Under Quality, Safety Scanner

Bhikangaon-Jhirniya Road, spanning approximately 37.50 kilometers in Madhya Pradesh, has drawn scrutiny over its quality and safety during construction. The project, valued at Rs 69 lakh, is being undertaken by Bidal Developers. However, even before its completion, issues have surfaced regarding the concrete's integrity and roadside safety.

Gaps in the newly laid concrete are visible at various points, and an electricity pole is situated directly in the middle of the road. Other poles are positioned near the road shoulders, raising concerns about visibility and structural integrity. Rajesh Chauhan, a social worker from Chiltiya village, has accused the construction crew of compromising on quality, claiming that cement was not being used as per prescribed standards, leading to gravel appearing in certain sections.

Furthermore, Chauhan alleged that concrete work had not been executed properly. Safety measures along the ongoing road construction have also sparked concern. Poles along and near the road lack reflective markings, and warning signs have yet to be installed, potentially endangering motorists, especially during nighttime travel. The Public Works Department's sub-divisional officer, Lokesh Chauhan, informed that the contractor has been directed to install reflective material on roadside poles and those on the carriageway.

Additionally, complaints concerning construction quality have been received by officials. They plan to conduct inspections at the site and take necessary actions as per the rules if any deficiencies in construction quality are identified.
