Kementerian Madani Malaysia will focus on the issue of affordable housing for citizens as a key priority in the 2027 budget, according to Fahmi Fadzil, the agency's spokesperson. The nation's geopolitical instability, currently unresolved, will also be taken into account in the fiscal plan for the coming year. "I see overall for the government, the focus in the 2027 budget includes ensuring the housing issue for the citizens is addressed more comprehensively, taking into account the geopolitical situation that is not yet complete," Fahmi stated.

Speaking to the media after launching the Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) X Jago 2026 tour in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya's Pasar Taman Seri Sentosa, Fahmi added that the budget will also prioritize projects that can quickly solve citizens' problems, in addition to attracting more domestic and foreign investments and supporting the implementation of Malaysia's 13th Development Plan (RMK13).

For the Communications Ministry, improving internet access, particularly in rural areas, will be a key priority. The minister also mentioned that his department is investigating the issue of media capacity and providing incentives to attract international film and television productions to Malaysia. "Perhaps some incentives such as CIME (Concerts and Events in Malaysia Incentive) and Fimi (Filming in Malaysia Incentive) could attract more investors to come to Malaysia," Fahmi added.
