Bandits set community ablaze after killing several residents in Zamfara

Several people were killed and others injured after bandits targeted communities in Zamfara State, destroying homes and prompting residents to evacuate for safety. The incidents took place on Sunday afternoon in Bardoki community of Gummi Local Government Area and Bunkasau in Bukkuyum Local Government Area. Security analyst Bakatsine reported on X that bandits attacked Bardoki and Bunkasau, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries, as well as widespread destruction of property.

Civilian JTF members attempting to assist in Bunkasau were ambushed by the bandits. Following the attack on Bardoki, the assailants set the Ruwan-Kura community ablaze, forcing residents to flee to Daki Takwas and Dargaje for refuge. Numerous individuals are now homeless, bereaved, and stripped of their possessions.
