Baghdad international book fair to kick off in September with Qatar among participants

The 27th Baghdad International Book Fair is scheduled to commence on September 2nd and conclude on September 12th, featuring the participation of 20 countries, including Qatar. More than 600 publishing houses and agencies from both Arab and foreign nations will be present, occupying nearly 395 booths. Oman has been selected as the guest of honor, displaying the nation's rich literary, intellectual, and scientific heritage.

The event is set to offer a wide range of cultural and intellectual activities, such as panel discussions, poetry sessions, and critical evenings, all featuring prominent Iraqi and Arab literary and intellectual figures. Alongside this, a cultural and artistic symposium will be held, inviting numerous participants to display fresh releases and host various literary and intellectual events.

The inaugural fair, established in 1979, has evolved into one of Iraq's and the region's most significant cultural and intellectual gatherings, drawing substantial involvement from publishing houses and cultural entities from across the Arab world and beyond. It attracts key cultural and intellectual personalities, as well as garnering considerable public and media attention.
