Arc Raiders' fifth Expedition will be its last until early 2027

Embark Studios has announced that the fifth Expedition of Arc Raiders will be its final one, opening in early September and concluding in early 2027. The studio has acknowledged player feedback regarding tight departure windows, reward structures, and accessibility for new players, concluding that these issues require substantial changes rather than incremental improvements.

In a blog post, Embark stated that the Expedition will be paused until early 2027, at which point it will return with major enhancements addressing key player concerns.

The fifth Expedition will feature an expanded three-week window, closing on September 29th. Unlike previous expeditions, quest progress is now optional, allowing players to maintain their ongoing quests instead of starting over. However, the Hullcracker Blueprint, typically associated with the quest line, will require alternative methods to unlock.

Rewards for completing the Expedition include the full Zenith Outfit, mystery rewards, and up to 12 additional stash space, capped at 60 in total. Bonus skill points will cap at 15, with catch-up still available for players who missed out during earlier Expeditions.

Consecutive buffs, such as the XP boost, Scrappy materials boost, and repair value increase, will be limited to three stacks. During the pause, any earned consecutive buffs will retain their status. Completed Expeditions will unlock the Zenith Outfit fully. With Caravans being reset, players will receive Ermal Vouchers of equivalent value for partially completed Caravans, which can be used for Ermal offers, ARC Parts, or firearms trade, or sold for Coin.

Trials are also experiencing a shorter break, concluding on September 22nd and resuming on October 8th. Eurogamer's review of Arc Raiders awarded it two out of five stars, noting the game's approachable extraction shooter mechanics and friendly community. However, the review criticized Embark Studios' continued use of AI voice generation, considering it a negative aspect of the studio's reputation.

Since its launch, Arc Raiders has introduced a feature allowing players to track their playstyle separately in Solo, Duo, and Trio matchmaking pools.
