Amazon Delivery Drone Drops Package Directly Into Customer’s Swimming Pool

A Texas resident observed an Amazon Prime Air drone hovering above her property as she ran outside, eager to capture the future of delivery services. However, a video shared by ABC7 News revealed that the advanced flying machine had a unique approach to package delivery. After perfectly aligning its shot, the drone purposefully dropped the package into her swimming pool, much to her surprise and dismay.

The woman expressed her shock, saying "Oh my god, oh my god," followed by "oh s***!" upon witnessing the waterlogged delivery.

Amazon recently announced that its drone delivery service would expand to a further 500 cities across the US, up from the current 11 operating locations. This incident serves as a reminder of the potential challenges that such technology may present. In fact, a similar situation occurred in May when a drone dropped a package onto the edge of a pond, only for it to float away. Another incident from last year showed a drone carelessly delivering a package onto concrete, shattering the plastic bottle inside.

The MK-30 model drone, larger and heavier than consumer drones at around 80 lbs, has received complaints from residents regarding its noise levels, often likened to helicopters. Some drones have even crashed, including two in the West Valley area near Phoenix which collided with a construction crane, resulting in flames and a temporary suspension of deliveries in the area.

An Amazon spokesperson assured the public that drone incidents are rare and vowed to learn from such experiences to improve the overall delivery experience.
