Alfaisal University welcomes new cohort of medical students

Alfaisal University's College of Medicine welcomed its 19th cohort of medical students during an orientation day for the 2026-2027 academic year, held at Princess Haya Hall. The event included faculty, leadership, and academic staff. Dr. Khaled Al-Qattan, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Dean of the College of Medicine, addressed the new students, emphasizing the university's unwavering support and commitment to preparing them to become successful doctors who can serve their patients and communities.

He praised the students for representing more than 40 diverse communities and shared that graduates from previous cohorts are making their mark in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the United States. Al-Qattan assured the students that their educational journey would encompass rigorous study, academic and practical training, and participation in community and international initiatives.

He encouraged them to share the joy of their medical journey with their loved ones. Dr. Bara Al-Ghalayini, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine, reported on the university's initiatives for 2025-2026, focusing on physical activity, mental health, prevention, and community engagement. These initiatives included administering 300 doses of the HPV vaccine and launching programs for running, walking, and cycling.

The orientation day featured presentations on the curriculum, assessment methods, and weekly schedules, as well as Q&A sessions and guided tours of the university's facilities.
