70-year-old UP man arrested for raping, impregnating minor granddaughter

A 70-year-old man from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating his 16-year-old granddaughter over the course of three months. The police claim the girl is now two months pregnant. The incident came to light after the young girl complained of severe stomach pain and was discovered to be pregnant.

A police officer confirmed that the suspect's grandfather has been arrested in connection with the case, and a detailed medical examination of the victim is currently underway. The girl's mother passed away six years ago, and her father is a laborer. She had been residing with her maternal uncle before returning home around four months ago.

According to the police, the girl reported severe stomach pain to neighbors on Saturday, prompting her father to take her to a private clinic. A doctor conducted a pregnancy test and confirmed she was expecting. The girl later disclosed to her father that her grandfather had allegedly sexually assaulted her shortly after she returned from her maternal uncle's house.

Despite her objections, he continued to sexually abuse her on multiple occasions while other family members were away.
