15 rescued as trailer crashes on Kano-Zaria Road

Fifteen individuals were rescued and transported to Kura General Hospital for medical care following a trailer collision on the Kano-Zaria Road. The accident took place near Gadan Yankifi on the early hours of Sunday, August 23, 2026, resulting in a brief delay on the main highway. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano's Sector Command reported the incident at approximately 5:00 a.m., with their rescue team reaching the location within five minutes of receiving the emergency call.

Sector Public Education Officer CRC AA Labaran stated that "no fatalities were reported in the crash, while a total of 15 persons were rescued and evacuated to Kura General Hospital for medical attention". In response to the incident, the Sector Commander CC IM Lawal dispatched the Corps' tow truck to help clear the obstruction and restore smooth traffic flow.

The FRSC urged motorists to exercise patience, decrease their speed when approaching the affected area, and adhere to traffic regulations. "Motorists are advised to cooperate with FRSC personnel and other emergency responders at the scene as efforts continue to completely clear the obstruction and restore normal traffic flow," Labaran concluded.
