Zelensky, Kellogg Discuss Protection of Civilian Infrastructure from Russian Strikes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, former U.S. special envoy for Ukraine, on Telegram, according to Ukrinform. Zelensky praised Kellogg for showing respect to Ukrainian soldiers who defend the country and the Euro-Atlantic space in challenging circumstances. The meeting took place at the start of the Veterans Forum in Kyiv.

Zelensky and Kellogg discussed the escalating Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure and agreed that ballistic missile defense is a top priority in Ukraine's defense strategy. Zelensky informed Kellogg about the country's collaboration with European partners to develop a ballistic missile defense system. He also emphasized the critical need for Patriot air defense interceptors during the ongoing winter.

Kellogg, who arrived in Ukraine on August 21, visited the Odesa port on his first day and assessed the damage caused by Russian attacks.
