Tommy Edman delivers a 10th-inning walk-off single as the Dodgers edge the Pirates 5-4

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tommy Edman secured the victory for his team with a dramatic walk-off single in the 10th inning, defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 on Friday night. Edman's crucial hit came off Pirates reliever Gregory Soto, driving in the scoring run for Kiké Hernández from third base. The Dodgers now hold the distinction of being the only undefeated team in extra innings this season.

With Hernández now batting leadoff, pinch-hitter Alex Call struck out, and Mookie Betts was intentionally walked. Kyle Tucker flied out to second base, where Betts was caught. Evan Phillips (1-2) earned the win with one inning of relief. The NL West-leading Dodgers have won eight of their last eleven games. Pittsburgh's Oneil Cruz hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, tying the score at 4-4.

Betts delivered a two-run single with two outs in the third inning, extending the Dodgers' lead to 4-2. The Pirates' relief pitcher, Luke Bachar, set up Tucker for a potential game-winning play in the seventh inning but failed when Tucker flew out to center field. Prior to this game, Pirates' right-handed hitter Nick Gonzales had driven in the only run for Pittsburgh with a first-inning single to center field. The Pirates will face Dodgers starting pitcher Jared Jones in the next game.
