Teen hospitalised on NSW Central Coast after alleged stabbing

A 15-year-old boy is currently in a critical yet stable condition at Gosford Hospital after allegedly being stabbed on Friday night in Terrigal, on the NSW Central Coast. Emergency services were promptly called to a residence on Painters Lane around 9:45pm, where paramedics found the teenager suffering from a stab wound and transported him to Gosford Hospital.

Upon arrival, he underwent surgery to address the injury. Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene at the scene and initiated an investigation focusing on two groups of teenagers that were reportedly in the area at the time. The two groups had apparently met up in Terrigal and proceeded to Painters Lane, where the incident took place.

Detective Chief Inspector John Zdrilic stated that it is unclear why the groups chose to gather in that specific location, and no confrontation between them has been confirmed. The 15-year-old boy was accompanied by two friends when they encountered another group of up to five individuals. Police are currently seeking information, CCTV footage, or dash-cam footage from the vicinity to aid their investigation.

No arrests have been made yet, and investigators are yet to find a weapon or identify any person of interest. Police urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and emphasize their commitment to removing knives from the streets to prevent such incidents.
