Santos FC adds 700,000 m² site for new youth training centre

Santos FC has acquired a 700,000 square meter plot of land in São Vicente, Brazil, for the construction of a new youth training center. The land was purchased from Saint-Gobain, a long-time business partner of the club, in exchange for commercial and advertising properties. The agreement was reached with the support of the São Vicente City Hall.

President Marcelo Teixeira emphasized the significance of this acquisition for Santos FC, stating that it represents a major step in the project of expanding the club's sports infrastructure.

Saint-Gobain's Vice President of HR and Public Affairs, Gustavo Siqueira, expressed his joy at the success of the transaction, highlighting the club's historic relationship with Santos and the transformative role of sports for society.

São Vicente Mayor Kayo Amado noted the city's ongoing development, particularly in the Continental Area where 150,000 people reside. He also mentioned the upcoming VLT (Valencia Light Transit) project, which will create a major development corridor and contribute to the region's growth.

The next steps for the development of the training center include conducting environmental studies and obtaining necessary licenses and authorizations from CETESB (Environmental Agency of São Vicente). Santos FC is also working on structuring a specific investment fund to finance the implementation of the project.
